Description

Program seeks to identify and develop writers for potential use on any of the three ABC serials (All My Children, General Hospital, One Life To Live). Development process is determined from individual’s adaptability to daytime serial form. Must send original work(s). Include plays, screenplays, spec scripts or novels. Do not send any work dealing with current ABC Daytime programs.

Support Provided

ABC Daytime development executives provide guidance and support. Those who reach higher stages of the development process receive instruction and feedback from ABC Daytime writers.

ABC/Directors Guild of America Television Directing Fellowship Program

Description

Three Fellowships awarded for a period covering approximately 36 non-consecutive weeks of the television season. Fellows will be employees of ABC, and paid $50,000 to participate in the program.

Support Provided

The program provides personal exposure to television directing, career development, the decision-making process and access to professional relationships with executive producers, showrunners, and other television executives. The fellows will observe and be mentored by select DGA directors. The goal of the Directing Initiative is to prepare aspiring directors for later employment opportunities in television.

Disney/ABC Casting Project

Description

Casting project is a series of showcases for actors produced in partnership with AFTRA, SAG, Actors Equity, Nosotros and other local theater groups. Opportunities for actors of diverse backgrounds including actors with disabilities.

Support Provided

Allows actors exposure, direction and feedback from creative and casting executives of ABC Entertainment, Touchstone Television, as well as from writers and executive producers from the entertainment industry.

ABC Writing Fellowship Program

Description

Fellows receive a flat weekly salary of $961.54/wk ($50,000/year) for one year; plus workshops, seminars, and personalized mentorship with creative executives from ABC, Touchstone and the Buena Vista Motion Picture Group. This Program is open to all writers. No previous experience necessary, however, writing samples are required.
